My name is Leonard Barnett and I am Jack W. Barnett’s uncle and I was the person the Posey County Coroner called to inform me that he had my nephew Jack at the morgue in Evansville and he informed me that Jack had committed suicide in a motel in Mt Vernon,Ind. The Four Seasons Motel and that his body could be viewed and his belongings could be picked up there. So after contacting his brother Jeff, uncle Jerry Barnett, uncle Bill Barnett, uncle Mick Jones and Uncle Tom Jones we went to the morgue the following day and after talking with the coroner he showed us Jacks drivers license and he said that this is who he had in the examination room and of us could view the body and we all said no except hie uncle Jerry Barnett and his uncle Bill Barnett and they decided they wanted to see the body so they did and they both told me later that they wished they hadn’t seen Jack’s body.So I drove Jack’s Red Chevy S10 pickup truck back to my house in Chandler and then someone drove it away and I am not sure where it went from there, but I did notice driving it back to my house how clean it was inside and the bed of the truck and sitting in the passenger side floorboard was what look to be brand new camping light. I was also informed by mutual friends that knew Jack and they were behind him in the checkout line and he was buying a shovel and I was told that there was a receipt in his billfold for a shovel and a receipt for a camping light but from two different stores. That’s about all I know for sure but I do personally believe that Jack had already killed his girlfriend and her dog.
